Job Description
Summary: South Shore Health is seeking an Emergency Preparedness College Intern to assist the Emergency Preparedness & Business Continuity Department. The intern will support activities related to emergency events, including facilitating drills, assisting with post-event reporting, and improving resource management systems.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the facilitation of actual events, drills, and exercises related to Business Continuity / Emergency Planning / Joint Commission and CMS yearly requirements
- Assist with post-event reporting, including report drafting, review and revisions
- Assist with the continuous improvement of the Resources & Asset Management System
- Assist with file management of training and exercises related documentation
- Attend training for safety awareness or skills improvement as requested by supervisor/s
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor/s
Required Qualifications:
- A dependable, enthusiastic student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Emergency Management or similar field
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
- Knowledge of HICS, ICS, and EOC functions
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities at once, as well as demonstrate creativity, initiative, good judgment and communicate clearly and professionally
- Predictable and reliable attendance, with the ability to meet deadlines, work independently with moderate supervision and consistently demonstrate a positive 'can do' attitude while maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information
