Job Overview

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced Tafseer Teacher with strong knowledge of the Qur’an, classical and contemporary Tafseer, and Islamic intellectual traditions. The ideal candidate should be capable of teaching Tafseer in English and engaging students in thoughtful discussions about Qur’anic interpretation, context, themes, and contemporary issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Tafseer of the Holy Qur’an through structured online classes.
• Explain verses with reference to authentic classical and contemporary Tafseer works.
• Introduce students to different approaches and perspectives in Qur’anic interpretation.
• Have familiarity with Fi Zilal al-Qur’an, Tafheem-ul-Qur’an, and other significant Tafseer works, including their intellectual, social, and political perspectives.
• Explain historical, social, ethical, and political themes found in relevant Tafseer literature.
• Compare different Tafseer approaches where appropriate, presenting scholarly views accurately and objectively.
• Prepare structured lesson plans, reading materials, and discussion topics.
• Encourage critical thinking, questions, and scholarly discussion.
• Assess students’ understanding and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain a professional, respectful, and academically rigorous online learning environment.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Excellent command of English is essential.
• Dars-e-Nizami qualification is strongly preferred.
• Advanced academic qualification in Islamic Studies, Qur’anic Studies, or a related field is preferred.
• PhD is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of classical and contemporary Tafseer literature.
• Familiarity with Fi Zilal al-Qur’an, Tafheem-ul-Qur’an, and other major Tafseer works.
• Knowledge of the historical, intellectual, social, and political dimensions of Tafseer.
• Previous teaching experience, particularly online, is preferred.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to teach students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds.
• Own laptop/computer is mandatory.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection and a professional setup suitable for online teaching.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will combine traditional Islamic scholarship with strong academic and analytical skills and will be comfortable teaching Tafseer beyond basic translation or explanation of verses. The candidate should be able to introduce students to different scholarly perspectives, including classical, contemporary, social, and political approaches to Tafseer, in clear and fluent English.

Compensation will be based on qualifications, teaching experience, and expertise.

Pay: Rs600.00 per hour
