2026 Entry Level Fleet Engineer at Solar Turbines in San Diego, CA

Summary: Solar Turbines, a part of Caterpillar Inc., is seeking an Entry Level Fleet Engineer to join their team. This role involves a 3-year rotation program with significant training and hands-on experience in customer service and machinery management. The Fleet Engineer will provide technical support, facilitate equipment investigations, and ensure compliance with safety standards while working closely with Fleet Managers. Responsibilities: - Participate in and support onsite condition assessments - Support fleet manager with service bulletin compliance and implementation of corrective actions - Follow up on pending issues defined within issue tracker - Provide technical and administrative support to Fleet Managers in maintaining and managing machinery management Agreements between Solar and customers - Facilitate equipment failure investigations and root cause determination with appropriate groups - Compile and submit engineering reports and analysis to fleet managers for review - Support fleet manager with alert management, preventative action reports, value tracking, and compilation of monthly reports and submission to customers Required Qualifications: - Minimum GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale - Minimum of bachelor's degree in engineering - Must be able and willing to travel, relocate, and work overtime - High integrity and a high level of self-confidence - Ability to handle stress and communicate in a professional manner - 0-2 years related experience Preferred Qualifications: - Able to work in extreme or adverse environments - Ability to handle stress and work in a high-pressure environment - Previous Internship or related work experience with customer facing activities strongly preferred Required Skills: Engineering degree, Control Systems, Customer Service Experience Important Skills: Gas Turbine knowledge, Power Generation Nice-to-Have Skills: High integrity, Stress management, Professional communication Benefits: Annual incentive bonus plan, Medical, dental and vision coverage starting day 1, Paid time off plan (Vacation, Holiday, Volunteer, Etc.), 401(k) Savings Plan including company match, Health savings account (HSA), Flexible spending accounts (FSAs), Short and long-term disability coverage, Life Insurance, Parental leave, Employee Assistance Programs, Voluntary Benefits and Employee Discounts, Career Development
