Job Description
Summary: Solar Turbines, a part of Caterpillar Inc., is seeking an Entry Level Fleet Engineer to join their team. This role involves a 3-year rotation program with significant training and hands-on experience in customer service and machinery management. The Fleet Engineer will provide technical support, facilitate equipment investigations, and ensure compliance with safety standards while working closely with Fleet Managers.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in and support onsite condition assessments
- Support fleet manager with service bulletin compliance and implementation of corrective actions
- Follow up on pending issues defined within issue tracker
- Provide technical and administrative support to Fleet Managers in maintaining and managing machinery management Agreements between Solar and customers
- Facilitate equipment failure investigations and root cause determination with appropriate groups
- Compile and submit engineering reports and analysis to fleet managers for review
- Support fleet manager with alert management, preventative action reports, value tracking, and compilation of monthly reports and submission to customers
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale
- Minimum of bachelor's degree in engineering
- Must be able and willing to travel, relocate, and work overtime
- High integrity and a high level of self-confidence
- Ability to handle stress and communicate in a professional manner
- 0-2 years related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Able to work in extreme or adverse environments
- Ability to handle stress and work in a high-pressure environment
- Previous Internship or related work experience with customer facing activities strongly preferred
Required Skills: Engineering degree, Control Systems, Customer Service Experience
