Roles & Responsibility

1. Software Development & Data Handling Support
• Coding: Assist in the development and unit testing of data acquisition scripts and microservices using fundamental Languages like Python and Java.
• Database Interaction: Learn to write basic queries (SQL) and assist with data modeling and structure within Time-Series Databases (InfluxDB, TimescaleDB).
• Data Pipelining: Support the monitoring and maintenance of real-time data flow systems utilizing messaging platforms like Apache Kafka and RabbitMQ.

2. Industrial Connectivity & Protocols Exposure
• Protocol Implementation: Gain practical experience by configuring and testing industrial communication protocols, primarily MQTT, OPC UA (Unified Architecture), and Modbus TCP/IP, for connecting to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and other industrial assets.
• Streaming Support: Learn to use distributed data processing tools like Apache Spark for data transformation and analytics at a foundational level.

3. Edge Computing & Modern Deployment
• Containerization: Learn and practice packaging applications using Docker for deployment on edge devices, understanding the principles of Containerization.
• Edge Platforms: Assist in deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting applications on industrial edge environments, including AWS Greengrass and Azure IoT Edge.

4. UI, Visualization, and Core Concepts
• Interface Support: Contribute to the basic maintenance of web-based monitoring dashboards using HTML and CSS.
• Platforms: Gain exposure to and support the configuration of IIoT visualization platforms like ThingsBoard and assist with report building within the PowerBI Architecture.
• Project Support: Understand and apply core engineering concepts such as Data Pipelining logic and downsampling strategies in a real-world industrial context.
