Job Description
Summary: Slate Auto is dedicated to building safe and reliable vehicles that people can afford and personalize. They are seeking an intern for the Vehicle Integration Electrical Engineering Team to lead the implementation of instrumentation for vehicle testing and support data acquisition efforts during a hot weather validation trip.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct the design, integration, analysis, and testing of components
- Demonstrate product safety, integrity, and quality physical product development
- Provide an innovative thinking approach to integrating new technology of physical components along with electrical controllers
- Assist in development of System Validation on prototype development buck
- Intern will gain first hand practical experience in using CAN interface tools for component and system validation
- Intern will be involved in root cause analysis of electrical failures and be involved in the diagnosis and repair of prototype vehicles
- Intern will learn to use and operate Data acquisition equipment
- Intern will be involved in the physical hands-on installation of Data acquisition equipment and setup of equipment for testing
- Intern will receive training in High Voltage safety
- Intern will have the opportunity to gain experience in working with High Voltage Components and systems
- Intern will learn to work with other engineers in a team environment
- Intern will work on maintaining software updates on prototype vehicles
- Intern will gain experience on Telematics and Networks
- Intern will Assist in reporting and developing presentation on Electrical Engineering systems and progress
Required Qualifications:
- 3rd or 4th year of bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or MBA
- Genuine interest in learning and gaining hands on experience in Electrical Engineering projects
- An interest in Automotive Engineering projects and troubleshooting
- A desire to be a strong team player
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in SAE, EV Baja or First Robotics clubs a plus, not required
