Job Description
Summary: Skyryse is on a mission to revolutionize flight safety and accessibility through innovative technology. They are seeking a tech-savvy IT Intern to contribute to researching, testing, and implementing AI solutions that enhance system efficiency and strengthen cybersecurity.
Responsibilities:
- Research AI capabilities within current IT systems and tools to create a comprehensive inventory of features, integrations, and potential efficiencies
- Identify opportunities where AI can add value, streamline workflows, and improve performance across IT operations
- Explore and test AI-driven automation tools to reduce manual effort in tasks such as reporting, data analysis, system maintenance, and monitoring
- Analyze current IT systems and infrastructure to identify gaps or limitations where AI could be leveraged to enhance performance or fill unmet needs
- Identify opportunities for optimization or enhancement through AI-powered solutions
- Collaborate with IT leadership to align AI exploration with the overall IT roadmap and business goals
- Document findings and make clear recommendations for AI integration, backed by data or research
- Research AI capabilities within enterprise systems and tools outside of IT (e.g., HR, Finance, Operations) to identify opportunities for cross-departmental efficiencies and added value
- Work with stakeholders from other business units to understand their systems and how AI might be used to support or improve them
- Prepare summary reports of findings and present potential solutions or areas for further investigation
- Assist in evaluating AI and machine learning tools designed to enhance cybersecurity, including automated threat detection, behavioral analytics, and incident response
- Monitor and analyze security logs and threat intelligence using AI-enhanced tools to identify anomalies and potential vulnerabilities
- Support the implementation of AI-driven security monitoring solutions and help track their effectiveness
- Contribute insights and documentation to support the evolution of the IT and cybersecurity strategy with an AI-first lens
- Assist in maintaining documentation, process workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Participate in general IT tasks as needed, including support requests, system updates, and infrastructure audits
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a university pursuing your Bachelors or Masters in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
- Graduating between December 2026 & June 2027
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong passion for emerging technologies, especially AI and its application in IT and cybersecurity
- Familiarity with scripting or programming (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus
- Understanding of IT fundamentals, enterprise systems, and cybersecurity principles
- Comfortable conducting research, running tests, and analyzing data to support technical decisions
- Analytical thinker with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
- Clear and effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Willingness to learn and explore unfamiliar tools and technologies
