Job Description
Summary: SIXGEN is dedicated to delivering agile cybersecurity solutions for government and critical infrastructure organizations. The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and deploy software applications to support various missions, ensuring compliance with security and performance standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications and systems in support of government and customer missions. Collaborate with systems engineers, analysts, and end users to understand technical requirements and translate them into software solutions
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using modern programming languages and development practices
- Support integration, debugging, and testing activities in both lab and operational environments
- Ensure software meets security, performance, and reliability standards, in compliance with government policies and frameworks
Required Qualifications:
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain a US Government Security clearance up to the Secret or TS level
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, or C
- Experience developing software in Linux-based environments. Familiarity with secure coding practices and software lifecycle principles
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team
- Experience supporting DoD, IC, or federal government software development projects
- Knowledge of DevSecOps, containerization, or distributed systems. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Git, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines
