JOIN OUR TEAM
At Simply Ed, we support NYC public schools by making sure the technology that powers classrooms works reliably every single day. As a School IT Support Technician at Leaders of Tomorrow Middle School, you won’t just “fix devices” — you’ll directly enable instruction, reduce downtime, and help teachers and students stay focused on learning rather than tech problems.
When a printer goes down, a Smartboard fails, or a classroom device won’t connect, learning can stall. Your work ensures that classrooms stay functional, instruction continues smoothly, and technology supports student success.
You’ll serve as the on-site technical point person, owning day-to-day technology health and playing a visible, valued role in the school’s daily operations.
WHY WORK WITH US?
At Simply Ed, our impact in schools begins with how we support our people. You’ll find:
• Mission-driven work – Your technical skills directly support teaching, learning, and classroom continuity every day.
• Supportive culture – Open communication, respectful environments, and a leadership team that values operational excellence.
• Career growth – Build real-world, school-based IT experience while strengthening your troubleshooting and systems skills.
• Training & coaching – Learn from experienced school-based professionals and grow your technical and professional confidence.
• Aligned scheduling – Consistent weekday hours that follow the NYC DOE school calendar.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Simply Ed School IT Support Technician, you will:
• Maintain the overall health and functionality of school devices, including laptops, desktops, and classroom technology.
• Configure and manage printer IP addresses and troubleshoot printing and connectivity issues.
• Reimage and support Smartboards and other instructional technology.
• Provide general classroom technology maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Assist teachers and staff with basic technical support to minimize instructional disruptions.
• Ensure all technology is ready and operational for daily school use.
• Track, document, and communicate technology issues and resolutions as needed.
• Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re seeking individuals who are:
• Motivated by keeping systems running smoothly and minimizing downtime.
• Comfortable working in a school environment with students and educators.
• Experienced with basic IT support, hardware troubleshooting, and device setup.
• Familiar with networking basics, including IP addressing, printers, and connectivity.
• Organized, dependable, and able to work independently.
• Strong communicators with a customer-service mindset.
• Adaptable in fast-paced, real-world environments where priorities can shift quickly.
• Cleared (or eligible for clearance) through DOE PETS background check and fingerprinting.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
WHAT YOU GAIN
• Competitive pay of $26/hour.
• PETS clearance and valuable DOE school experience.
• Hands-on, real-world IT experience in a school environment.
• Exposure to classroom, device, and network troubleshooting at scale.
• A chance to build practical skills that translate to future IT and systems roles.
• The satisfaction of knowing your work directly benefits student learning and school operations.
If you want your technical work to have visible, real-world impact every day, join Simply Ed and help keep technology running smoothly at Leaders of Tomorrow Middle School.
