jobDescription
We are seeking a dynamic results oriented Production Manager to join our Insulation Greer, SC team.
**Key Responsibilities:**
Ensure plant meets profitable production goals and quality standards while remaining within budget limitations
Act as interface between plant management and production staff
Lead continuous improvement programs and manufacturing process improvements using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other problem-solving methodologies
Develop production schedules and make strategic decisions to adjust programs when time or budget constraints are encountered
Organize and cross-train worker teams to maximize production flexibility and operational efficiency
Implement and monitor KPIs to assess, analyze, and track manufacturing processes against established goals and objectives
Inspect machines and equipment to ensure optimal operational performance; consult with Engineering and Maintenance on necessary modifications
Establish and enforce comprehensive safety guidelines and procedures, including conducting monthly safety meetings, overseeing safety training, investigating accidents, and ensuring regulatory compliance
Manage the full employment lifecycle for production personnel, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions
Foster workforce accountability and continuous learning through goal-setting, employee empowerment, regular feedback, and one-on-one coaching
Address employee concerns and grievances in coordination with Human Resources and Plant Management
Monitor production costs and identify opportunities to reduce steps, time, and material waste
**Scope of Authority:**
Manages 20-30 employees in the Manufacturing Department with full supervisory responsibility for direction, coordination, and evaluation. Travel required 3-5 times per year.
qualifications
**Required Qualifications:**
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, OR 5+ years of progressive leadership/management experience in manufacturing
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Written and verbal communication skills
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Knowledge of health, safety standards, and regulatory compliance
Experience with budgeting, capital equipment analysis, and cost accounting
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies
Excellent organizational and planning skills with ability to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines
