Job Description
Summary: Signet Jewelers is the world's largest retailer of diamond jewelry, operating over 2,800 stores worldwide. The AWS Development Internship offers training in the AWS cloud environment, where interns will work closely with developers and project managers to gain insights into cloud development tools and agile practices.
Responsibilities:
- Develop integrations utilizing AWS services like Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS), Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS), and AWS Lambda, adhering to an asynchronous publish and subscribe model
- Implement established integration patterns
- Create and maintain event-driven solutions using Node.js
- Rigorously unit test all components developed
- Implement robust error handling and alerting in alignment with generalized development standards
- Troubleshoot and debug integration issues, implementing scalable solutions to enhance performance
- Implement data validation, transformation, and normalization processes to ensure conformity with the canonical data model and compatibility across integrated systems
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Anticipated graduation date: May 2027
- Development experience in building Java applications
- Proficiency in working within a team setting using agile methodologies
- Demonstrated diverse technical skills supporting the overall development lifecycle
- Strong background in math, science, or music
- Experience with Node.js or JavaScript
- Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug integration issues
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and pursue an AWS Developer Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with AWS services, especially SNS, SQS, and Lambda, is a plus
