Summary: Sigma Defense Systems LLC is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Intern to join their Engineering team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Mechanical Engineering practices, contributing to the development of new Sigma Defense products. Responsibilities: - Design parts and assemblies of low to mid-level complexities for current and new R&D projects - Assist with preparations of manufacturing drawings to ensure the document contains all pertinent information the manufacturer needs to successfully produce the part - Liaison with manufacturers to ensure parts are produced within budget and on time - Collaborate with engineering team to provide project updates, new ideas, and improving existing products - Assist with 3D printing parts for prototypes as well as set-up for new machines and equipment Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering - Must be a second semester sophomore or above - Some familiarity with CAD software and FEA - Must be a U.S. citizen Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with SolidWorks modeling and simulation software, prototyping, electronics assembly, and drafting techniques Required Skills: CAD software, SolidWorks Important Skills: Mechanical Engineering principles, 3D modeling Nice-to-Have Skills: Prototyping, Drafting techniques, FEA Benefits: Dental and Vision Insurance, Medical Insurance to Include HSA, FSA, and DFSA Plans, Life and AD&D coverage, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), 401(k) Plan with Company Matching Contributions, 160 Hours of Paid Time Off (PTO), 12 (Floating) Holidays, Educational Assistance, Highly Competitive Salary
