Job Description
Summary: SiFive is a pioneer in RISC-V technology, transforming the future of compute with their advanced solutions. The Intern will join the FireSim team to develop FPGA-based hardware emulation tools and runtime software, contributing to high-speed verification of RISC-V processor IP.
Responsibilities:
- Report to the FireSim team in Berkeley, three days a week
- Core technical responsibilities include subset of:
- Developing compiler passes in our CIRCT-based emulation compiler
- Designing new emulator features using both Chisel and C++
- Add robust tests for newly designed features
- Help maintain CI / CD systems related to their subsystem
- Help rollout new agentic processes to augment emulator subsystems, where appropriate
Required Qualifications:
- Be enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- Exposure to RTL design, using Chisel or Verilog
- Exposure to design for FPGA
- experience writing performance-optimized C or C++ code
- experience developing within LLVM, or CIRCT projects
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a desire to develop them that matches their desire to do technical work
Preferred Qualifications:
- A combination of both hardware and software-oriented skills would be ideal
