Summary: SGS is the world's leading Testing, Inspection and Certification company. They are seeking a Lab Technician to prepare samples with accuracy and precision in accordance with SGS' analytical SOPs and to ensure daily production targets are met while maintaining a safe working environment. Responsibilities: - After appropriate training independently prepare samples for analysis according to SGS’ analytical SOPs using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies - Performs routine operation, maintenance, calibration of prep instruments/equipment - May assist with validation and MDL studies - Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations - Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable - Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures - Performs other duties as required Required Qualifications: - High school diploma and 0-2 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories or prior experience working with one's hands - Advanced English language skills - Basic mathematical and reasoning skills - Basic computer skills - Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull upwards of 25 lbs on a frequent basis Preferred Qualifications: - Associates Degree in a Chemistry or similar scientific discipline and 1-2 years of years' relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories Required Skills: Analytical Chemistry Laboratories, Sample Preparation, Laboratory Instrumentation, Laboratory Equipment Calibration, Laboratory Notebook Maintenance, Mathematics, Manual Handling, English Language Benefits: Medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, employee assistance programs., 401(k) with company match (immediate vesting upon enrollment)., Online training courses, virtual and classroom development experiences, tuition reimbursement program, Paid-time off and family leave
