Senior Director, Business Development,… at Seven Seas… · Remote

Description

Senior Director, Business Development, Chemical Manufacturing

Bring Water-as-a-Service® to a buyer that already knows how to sign it. Seven Seas Water Group is hiring a Senior Director, Business Development to win new business for iWaaS® (Industrial Water-as-a-Service®), our new industrial division, across the chemical manufacturing vertical. Specialty and industrial chemical plants have spent decades signing 15 to 20 year take-or-pay offtake agreements for on-site power and industrial gas. You’ll bring that same conversation to the water and wastewater side of the plant, carrying each opportunity from first contact to signed letter of intent. You’ll report to our SVP, Industrial. This is a remote role, with a strong preference for candidates in the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Ohio River Valley, Houston, or Tampa.

Who we are

Seven Seas Water Group (SSWG) delivers more than 20 billion gallons of water a year to industrial, governmental, municipal, and hospitality customers across the U.S., Caribbean, and Latin America. Through our WaaS® model, we design, build, own, and operate more than 220 water and wastewater treatment plants, taking on the capital and operational risk so our customers don’t have to. SSWG is a portfolio company of EQT, a global investment firm with more than three decades of experience building essential infrastructure.

What you’ll own

You’ll win new iWaaS deals with chemical manufacturers and processors, building named-account relationships across our priority accounts and turning them into signed LOIs. The buyer logic already exists inside these plants, along with the procurement, legal, and finance muscle memory that comes with long-term capital agreements. Your job is to show them that the structure they already trust for industrial gas works just as well for water.

That means structuring long-term offtake agreements directly from the on-site industrial gas playbook: per-gallon service fees, escalators, and take-or-pay floors. You’ll lead commercial negotiation across a multi-stakeholder buying process that includes the plant manager, operations, finance, procurement, and legal, in an industry that negotiates capital agreements for a living. Once a deal is signed, you’ll hand it off cleanly to our project finance and execution teams.

You’ll focus on specialty and industrial chemicals in the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Ohio River Valley, where aging infrastructure and brand-level ESG commitments are driving real interest in outsourced, off-balance-sheet water and wastewater treatment. You’ll also represent SSWG at the chemical industry events where the next several years of pipeline get built, one relationship at a time.

Requirements

What you bring

• 12+ years of senior business development or sales leadership at an industrial services, environmental services, or infrastructure company
• Direct experience closing long-term, capital-intensive service contracts with a total contract value of $20 million or more
• Comfort navigating a multi-stakeholder enterprise sale, including a customer’s CFO or capital-committee approval process
• A record of multi-year tenures and long, complex deal cycles

Experience with WaaS or other outsourced water models, on-site industrial gas supply, ESCO or Energy-as-a-Service, or industrial water service contracts is strongly preferred, as is vertical depth in specialty or industrial chemicals and existing relationships in our priority regions. An engineering degree, an MBA or finance background, or senior relationships at named chemical accounts are all a plus, not a requirement.

Why this role

You’d be selling a genuinely new category to a sophisticated buyer that already understands the contract, which is a rare combination. You’ll own the vertical from first conversation to signed LOI, with direct visibility to our SVP, Industrial and real influence over how SSWG grows iWaaS. If you want to build a book of long-term, high-value infrastructure deals in a market that’s ready for them, this is that seat.
