Job Description
Summary: Sedron Technologies is a leading provider of circular waste management technologies, and they are seeking an Accounting Intern to support their Finance & Accounting team. The role involves assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial data entry, and general accounting support while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with accounts payable processing, including entering vendor invoices into accounting software with accurate GL coding and job costing
- Support accounts receivable activities, including tracking customer payments and assisting with invoice documentation and follow-up
- Receive, review, and verify employee expense reports for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with weekly check and ACH payment processing
- Help reconcile vendor statements and accounting transactions to ensure accurate records
- Provide support for purchase order entry and related documentation
- Assist with the month end close processing, including preparation of journal entries, and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Maintain organized accounting records, files, and supporting documentation in both digital and physical formats
- Assist with mail distribution, PO box management, and other administrative accounting tasks as needed
- Support the Accounting Department with special projects, reporting tasks, and general administrative support
- Assist with data cleanup and accounting system organization projects
- Support document retention and audit preparation activities
- Participate in process improvement initiatives within the Finance & Accounting team
- Provide occasional cross-functional administrative support as business needs require
- Prioritize duties and responsibilities to meet deadlines and departmental objectives
- Maintain professionalism, reliability, organization, and strong attendance
Required Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in a community college, technical program, or undergraduate program in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred. Equivalent coursework or relevant experience may also be considered
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems is a plus
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and office procedures
- Ability to accurately enter and maintain financial data
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn new systems and processes
- Commitment to professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality
- Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
- Must have effective verbal, reading, and written communication skills in the English language
- Must be a US Citizen or legal permanent resident for this position. We are unable to sponsor any employment visas
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous office, administrative, customer service, or bookkeeping experience preferred but not required
