Job Description
The Postdoctoral Fellow will be working on a bioengineering project that integrate wetlab research with AI-driven bioinformatics tool development. The suitable candidate should be cooperative, proactive, self-learning and independent and effectively troubleshoot tasks. Basic molecular and cell biology techniques are required, including bacterial transformation and handling, PCR, molecular cloning (restriction enzyme and Gibson assembly), gene codon optimization, DNA extraction (miniprep/midiprep/maxiprep), sanger sequencing sample submissions, gene sequence analysis, mammalian cell culture work in biosafety cabinet while maintaining sterility techniques, DNA transfection into mammalian cell culture (PEI/lipofectamine), western blot. Cellular fluorescence imaging experience and image processing (ImageJ) are central to the work. Experience with high-content imaging is preferred.
Ability to master techniques that are critical to success include virus production (retrovirus, mouse Moloney leukemia virus), Fluorescence activated cell sorting (FACS), next-generation sequencing.
Main priority - Develop a computational model for nanobody bioengineering suitable for cancer research. Include basic machine learning, working with large language models in terms of classifiers and generative models. This work will require being able to handle real-world molecular and cellular data from assays like reporter assays in bulk or cellular images to facilitate proper data encoding, dataset processing, model training, model validation steps, etc. Web development is a part of the project. The successful candidate will further integrate wetlab molecular and cellular biology techniques (ex. PCR, Gibson assembly, molecular cloning, DNA extraction, cell transfection, reporter assays, western blot, gel electrophoresis) to generate actual data, working in concert with teammates cooperatively. The successful candidate will further assist with everyday laboratory maintenance and inventory management, as well as grant/manuscript preparations.
Required Education and Experience
Doctorate degree (PhD/DVM/MD) in specialty area from an accredited university training program.
Experience using basic research techniques of specialty area.

Previous experience conducting research in the pediatric arena.
Experience in protocol and manuscript development and in grant writing.
Compensation Range
$80,172 per year
Salary Information
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
