Summary: SCS Engineers is focused on enhancing environmental systems and infrastructure to improve community health and safety. They are seeking a Field Technician II to perform complex tasks related to the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of environmental control systems, while working under general supervision and contributing to various field activities. Responsibilities: - Working knowledge of and compliance with SCS policies and procedures, with a primary focus on: - The SCS Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) as it pertains to the SCS Health & Safety program - The SCS Quality Management System as it pertains to the quality of our work; and - The SCS Standards of Business Conduct and Ethics as they pertain to our behavior as employee owners at SCS - Has limited experience in and works with senior staff in the planning and execution of assigned tasks, including daily Crew Activity Plans (CAP), monitoring, and/or adjustment of various environmental control system components - Performs moderate-level maintenance and repairs of various environmental control system components - Conducts field observations/actions and report those observations/actions by way of field notes and daily logs. Under the direction of a supervisor, may prepare verbal and written client communications - Utilize field instruments to measure required environmental control system data, including calibration and proper care and handling of field instruments - Performs environmental sampling using collection canisters and Tedlar bags and is trained in the preparation of chain of custody documents for shipment - Conducts preliminary review of collected data with oversight from supervisor. Required to communicate review of data to a supervisor or other designee for further direction - Performs operational adjustments to environmental control system components in conjunction with the results of preliminary data reviews - Utilize the appropriate tools, equipment, and materials to maintain and repair environmental control system components - Assists Laborers, Field Technician I, Senior Field Technicians, or other staff with removal and servicing of landfill liquids pumps - Provide limited direction to vendors or subcontractors following authorization by supervisor - Continued participation in training programs to enhance technical knowledge and stay up to date with industry best practices - Participate in and complete required Health & Safety training Required Qualifications: - Minimum of 1-3 years of environmental control system OM&M experience is required - Must have a valid driver's license and a driving record in good standing - Meet all physical requirements to complete essential duties and pass a human performance evaluation (HPE) Preferred Qualifications: - A current 40-Hour HAZWOPER Course, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 is preferred (training will be provided if not current) - 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher Course, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 (e), (q)(8) Required Skills: Health and Safety Requirements, Environmental Control System Operation, Maintenance, and Monitoring, SCS Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP), SCS Quality Management System, SCS Standards of Business Conduct and Ethics, Crew Activity Plans (CAP), Field Instrument Calibration and Handling, Environmental Sampling with Collection Canisters and Tedlar Bags, Chain of Custody Documentation, Environmental Data Review, Environmental Control System Maintenance and Repair, 40-Hour HAZWOPER Course OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120, Valid Driver’s License Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability Insurance, 100% employer-funded Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and 401K including employer match, Student Debt Employer Contribution Program, Paid holidays, PTO, and Paid Parental Leave, Safety footwear reimbursement program, Paid training and all necessary tools and equipment provided, Per diem for travel for eligible work, Company truck and cell phone for certain Field Services positions
