Job Description
Summary: Scout Motors Inc. is a company dedicated to reviving an iconic American vehicle brand, focusing on innovation and sustainability. The role of an intern involves collaborating with teams on data governance, enhancing data pipelines, and supporting IT infrastructure, providing hands-on experience in the electric vehicle industry.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Data Engineers, IT Business Partners, Security, etc.) and gather requirements for onboarding new data sets
- Assist in developing data governance policies such as access control, data classification, standards and best practices for BI reports/visualizations
- Participate in the enhancement of existing data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and the creation of new features to meet business requirements
- Help implement observability and monitoring solutions for data workflows
- Maintain clear documentation on data assets, metadata management, data cataloging and governance processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and make improvements to existing data platform processes
Required Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program for Engineering or Information Technology or a similar field as a Sophomore or higher
- Must be able to work from Charlotte, NC from mid-May to mid-August 2026
- Strong interest in electric vehicles, automotive engineering, and sustainable transportation
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work in a fast-paced team environment
- Detail-oriented with a proactive and results-driven mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and project management tools
