Job Description
Summary: Scientech Research LLC is a quantitative trading firm founded by Wall Street veterans, aiming to leverage technology innovations in financial markets. The intern will contribute to the trading and research stack, working on systems that handle significant market data and support high trading volumes while collaborating with experienced quant developers.
Responsibilities:
- Build and optimize components of our low-latency live trading platform in C++
- Contribute to our high-performance backtesting research framework running on cloud infrastructure, helping researchers iterate on strategies faster
- Collaborate with senior quant developers throughout the design process — your questions and ideas are part of the conversation, not an afterthought
- Develop a working understanding of how the full stack fits together: from market data ingestion and strategy execution to risk management and monitoring
Required Qualifications:
- Solid C++ experience — ideally from a meaningful project or codebase where you had to think carefully about design
- Python experience is a strong plus
- An intuition for performance: you think about memory, concurrency, and efficiency as natural parts of writing good code
- Experience with or curiosity about low-latency trading systems, cloud platforms like AWS, or web technologies like React and Node — any of these are welcome
- You're rigorous and patient with hard problems — you'd rather understand something deeply than paper over it quickly
- A collaborative spirit: you communicate clearly, take feedback openly, and work well as part of a team that moves fast and holds a high bar
- Self-motivated and energized by an environment where things move quickly and your contributions have a visible impact
