Job Description
The Parts Clerk (Warehouse) performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of SES’s storage plan. The Parts Clerk is responsible for reviewing our company practices to ensure compliance with pertinent processes and procedures.
- Receive and store Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), kits, and other inventory property
- Accurately enter all property into the database; perform material transfers and releases as needed per all company processes
- Conduct inventory cycle counts, verifying item storage, location, quantity, etc.
- Responsible for control and accuracy of material and records using both manual and electronic inventory control systems
- Transfer, store, stack, or palletize materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods
- Issue materials from reservations or other relevant documentation
- Examine stored materials and report deterioration and damage
- Issue, inventory, account for and dispose of expired Hazmat material per company procedure
- Operate pallet jacks and/or forklift
- Ensure documents are completed correctly and all required signatures are obtained
- Maintain Costpoint retrieval records to ensure seamless retrieval in designated warehouse, including description information, quantity, cost, serial lot number, and quantity availability
- Maintaining inventory control over all part inventory, verification and accuracy of parts on hand, locations, abbreviations, shelf life, and lot identification information
- Maintain inventory receipts, stocking, issues, and return to stock, location transfers by filing in designated location
- Perform other various duties as needed, assigned, and/or required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization
- May be required to work some weekends or overtime as needed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Beginner to intermediate computer skills—Costpoint experience highly preferred; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs; ability to accurately enter data
- High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently and multi-task
- Ability to read, interpret and follow safety rules, procedure manuals and processes
- Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff
- Ability to use general office equipment such as copier, scanner, printers, etc.
- Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations
- Analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data and consider decision impact across multiple areas
- Previous experience conducting physical inventory counts preferred
- Ability to handle Hazmat products as it relates to aviation maintenance
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
Experience:
- 3+ years’ experience in inventory / warehouse is required
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Experience in aviation maintenance area, highly desired
