CDL A Owner Operator Regional Hopper Truck Driver | Southeast Routes | $3,750-$6,000 Gross Weekly + FSC

Schwend Inc. is hiring an experienced CDL A Owner Operator Regional Hopper Truck Driver to haul agricultural dry bulk freight throughout the Southeast. Bring your truck and pull a Schwend hopper, or bring your truck and your own qualifying hopper trailer.
Schwend is a family-owned carrier serving customers since 1976, with terminals in Florida, Tennessee, and Georgia.
Pay & Schedule

• With your truck and a Schwend trailer: 75% of linehaul + 100% FSC; $3,750-$4,750 gross weekly + FSC
• With your truck and trailer: 90% of linehaul + 100% FSC; $4,000-$6,000 gross weekly + FSC
• Weekly settlements; pay week runs Sunday through Saturday
• Southeast regional routes; home most weekends based on location and freight
• Occasional weekend work may be required
• Dedicated customer freight with earnings based on availability, communication, and how hard you run

Truck & Trailer Requirements

• Wheelbase no more than 260 inches - non-negotiable
• Truck weight under 19,000 pounds with driver and fuel
• Owner-supplied hopper trailer must be 84x102x43 or 78x102x43
• Owner Operator is responsible for apportioned plates and Form 2290

Hands-On Hopper Work
This CDL A Owner Operator Regional Hopper Truck Driver position requires operating roll tarps and hopper doors, using trailer vibrators, and sweeping remaining product when needed. Drivers must be able to:

• Climb the trailer ladder and work safely around the hopper
• Cover and uncover the trailer using the roll tarp
• Crank open bottom doors and monitor gravity unloading
• Work outdoors in heat, rain, dust, and humid conditions
• Perform physical work - this is not a dock-bumping position

Insurance, Escrows & Expenses

• Auto liability: $130/week through Schwend
• Bobtail: $7.38/week through Schwend, or provide proof of coverage
• Occupational accident: $33.75/week through Schwend
• Optional rider policy: $106/year; passenger must be at least 10 years old
