Job Description
Summary: South Umpqua School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant 1, Behavior to support students with severe emotional or behavioral difficulties. The role assists with the behavior intervention program, debriefs students about exhibited behaviors, and establishes consistent expectations and boundaries.
Responsibilities:
- Work with students who have severe emotional or behavioral difficulties
- Duties would include assistance in the behavior intervention program debriefing with students about exhibited behaviors throughout the day
- Applicants should be able to set strict expectations and boundaries for students with consistency
Required Qualifications:
- Paraprofessionals are required to have at least an associate's degree or the equivalent of that
- (passing scores on approved college placement test)
- Ability to work independently and follow written and oral directions
- Patience, compassion, and understanding are required
- Must have the ability to establish respectful relationships with students
