Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to customer needs and requests for service assistance by greeting and acknowledging each customer, and being knowledgeable of store products, policies, and promotions
- Accurately and efficiently process customer transactions through registers to itemize and total customer purchases
- Collects payment in the form of cash, check, or credit from customers and is able to provide accurate change and a receipt
- Records daily transactions from the cash register to balance drawer by counting money at the beginning and end of each shift
- Complete Customer Service projects and delegate to other cashiers when needed
- Coordinate training for cashiers and new associates
- Promote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and be able to clearly explain all benefits
- Accurately create a monthly budget and place orders for register supplies and parts
- Maintain orderly appearance of registers, customer service, and surrounding areas
- Ability to perform basic math; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization
- Demonstrates strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and problem solving skills
- Exercise judgment and tact, and be able to effectively work with customers when resolving problems that involve several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to work assigned schedule, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Assist with all other duties as assigned
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma, or General Education Degree(GED), and 1+ years of cashiering experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
