Job Description
Summary: SB Energy is a leading company backed by SoftBank and Ares, focused on providing reliable and affordable energy at scale. As a Data Center Project Engineer, you will be part of a diverse team solving complex problems in constructing Data Centers, coordinating with various teams to ensure high-quality delivery of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Establishing communication and coordination across a data center region’s general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams
- Develop and maintain a tracking system for design changes, RFI’s (requests for information), and change orders and dashboard and track this information for regional leadership review
- Include tracking status of priority and due dates
- Requesting and reviewing MOPs (Method of Procedure) for proper detail, necessity, and risk
- On-boarding new vendors for badging and orientation
- Updating project management software with milestone dates, correspondence, and documents
- Monitor delivery of owner furnished material to site
- Compiling and storing construction data from vendors
- Managing checklist including various checklists including substantial completion checks, safety, and quality
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field
- Equivalent construction experience or a strong technical background such as aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar disciplines may be considered in place of a directly aligned degree
- Experience working in a data center or mission critical facility (example: hospital, military facility, public safety facility, etc.)
- 1-3 years of experience in construction or project management
- Knowledge of electrical systems in critical Data Center operations that include but are not limited to utility substation feeds, transformers, switchgear, VFI Class UPS, DRUPS, PDUs, ATS, STS, SLA/VRLA batteries and associated systems, diesel/gas turbine generators and related fuel systems, Surge Suppression, Active Harmonic Filtering, battery monitoring systems, branch circuit monitoring systems or SCADA systems
- Knowledge of mission critical systems (data centers, hospitals, power plants, military facilities, etc.)
- Experience in vendor negotiation and management for data center or upgrade construction contracts
- CFC license or PMI qualification (PMP, IPMA, IPMC)
