Job Description
Summary: Sasser, Inc. is a recognized leader in transportation asset services and management, offering a supportive and employee-driven culture. The AI & Data Analytics Intern will assist the Analytics team with data preparation, analysis, and reporting, while gaining valuable experience in applying data analytics and foundational AI concepts to real-world business problems.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and validating data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Support the development and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and visualizations using business intelligence tools
- Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
- Assist with basic SQL queries and data transformations to support reporting and analysis needs
- Collaborate with team members to understand business questions and translate them into analytical tasks
- Document assumptions, methodologies, and findings clearly for technical and non-technical audiences
- Support ad-hoc analytical requests and special projects as assigned
- Learn and apply best practices related to data governance, data quality, and responsible use of AI tools
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field
- Strong interest in analytics, data-driven decision-making, and applied AI concepts
- Basic proficiency in one or more of the following: Python, SQL, R
- Familiarity with data visualization or BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- Understanding of basic statistical concepts and data analysis techniques
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate findings clearly in both written and verbal formats
- Curiosity, willingness to learn, and comfort asking questions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework or hands-on experience in data analysis, statistics, or programming preferred
