Job Description
In accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the Saskatchewan Health Authority and Mental Health and Addictions services, the incumbent is accountable for provision of direct concurrent mental health and addiction services to children and youth, adults and their families. These services will include primarily case management, individual, group and family counseling, and public education/consultation in the area of mental health and addictions. The incumbent shall function within the practice principles of the Mental Health and Addictions Services’ program management model.

- Demonstrated working knowledge in the area of recovery model
- Knowledge of systems theory and human lifespan development
- Knowledge of addictions screening and assessment tools and procedures
- Effective interpersonal relationship skills
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.

- Knowledge in principles for Alcohol and Drug Misuse Services for Saskatchewan

- Ability to network and collaborate with internal and external resources/agencies
- Knowledge of Government of Sask Detox Programming Standards (2012)
- Knowledge of community resources including treatment programs & support agencies
- Ability to distinguish normal and abnormal emotional behavioral functioning.
- Knowledge of protocols and Legislation that related addictions and mental health
- Sound knowledge of mental health and addictions theory.
- Ability to develop, lead and maintain family-centered, integrated case teams
- Knowledge in best practices in addictions and harm reduction strategies
- Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act and other legislation
- Ability to cope effectively with stress, change, and diversity
- Excellent public relations skills

- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Registered/eligible to register with corresponding professional association
