The role involves programming CNC machining centers and plate burning machines, creating efficient programs, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities: - Read and interpret blueprints to understand the specifications for each job - Program for CNC machining center using Inventor and SolidWorks software - Program for CNC plate burning machines using AutoCAD and other related software - Assist sales in the creation of quotes - Create effective programs that are time and cost efficient - Plan appropriately to optimize the nest (cut the most possible pieces from a plate) - Establish tool inventory for machining center - Participate in the inspection process for machined parts - Establish and maintain production schedule for CNC Machining Center - Actively involved in branch Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives - All other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - Post-Secondary Education in Engineering or Engineering Technician preferred - Able to read, modify and create drawings in AutoCAD - Strong aptitude for learning new technologies - Clear written and oral communication - Keen attention to detail - Comfortable working in a team environment with multiple competing priorities - Exposure to AS400 or other ERP systems an asset - Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications - Experience or exposure to CNC programming - Experience in ProNest, PrimeCut, Inventor and SolidWorks is considered an asset - Familiar with HAAS CNC Vertical Machining Centers an asset Required Skills: AutoCAD, CNC programming, Inventor, SolidWorks, ProNest, PrimeCut, Microsoft Office, ERP systems, HAAS CNC Vertical Machining Centers, Clear written, Keen attention to detail, Comfortable working in a team environment
