Job Description
Summary: Samsung Semiconductor is a world leader in advanced semiconductor technology, and they are seeking a Part Quality Engineer to deliver high-quality parts and analytical insights. The role involves analyzing data, troubleshooting quality issues, and collaborating with various teams to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Interaction and management of multiple clean parts for quality, technical support, improvements, root cause
- Interaction and management of multiple repair parts for quality and technical support, improvements, root-cause investigations, and corrective/preventive action implementation
- Work closely with various groups such as Fab engineering, Procurement, Operations, the Analysis Lab, and vendors to resolve issues
- Proactively identify and implement part-quality improvements while working closely with vendors, counterparts at other Samsung sites, and the FAB engineering team
- Drive part-related FAB investigations; provide an understanding of clean parts and their impact on FAB processing
- Provide management and leadership toward repair-parts issue resolution (SPC, data analysis, 8-D development, and corrective)
- Collaborate with vendors to identify and implement preventive solutions for a proactive approach
- Qualify new clean parts and changes, including vendor process-change notifications, project planning, execution of qualification, and data analysis
- Initiate and lead improvement teams, both internal and external to the department
- Perform experiments, investigations, and evaluations utilizing statistical methods
- Document all work accurately and promptly in the appropriate company systems
- Complete projects promptly with strong attention to detail, and submit technical reports as required to support department KPIs
- Create SOPs, optimize procedures, and mentor other engineers or operations team members on such items
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Science Degree on Material Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering or an equivalent discipline
- 1-3 years of experience
- Ability to analyze data and identify trends and areas for improvement
- Experience in cleaning processes, quality control, and material analysis
- Knowledge of cleaning technologies, chemical processes, and quality control methods
- Experience in Semiconductor or high-volume technical manufacturing
- Experience in wafer manufacturing and/or experience with global supply chains and multi-site quality process standardization
- Experience in audit methodologies, gap analysis, and quality improvement techniques such as Lean Six Sigma
- Experience with inspection tools such as: CMM, Surface Roughness Tester, XRF, Profilometer
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience on Jira, Confluence, Spotfire, CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), Python
- Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
