Summary: Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an equipment engineer interested in working alongside a talented team of professionals with a key focus on establishing and maintaining world class process/equipment. The role involves monitoring wafer fabrication equipment, qualifying new manufacturing equipment, and developing improved processes to enhance manufacturing capabilities. Responsibilities: - Monitoring the wafer fabrication equipment and respond to issues - Qualifying new manufacturing equipment - Coordinating the scheduling of equipment qualifications and equipment down time with manufacturing - Using software to analyze data, identify trends to make decisions about processing product - Making adjustments when equipment parameters are exceeded and monitors process parameters when tools return from maintenance - Executing in line changes (CPM) to the process or equipment - Communicating technical information within the department through presentations - Continuously revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) - Developing improved processes to increase capability - Monitoring operations costs and develop cost reduction projects Required Qualifications: - BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science (3.0 GPA for new grads) - Scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language - Understanding of statistical methods - Understanding of Change Point Management, and of Lean, TPS, or 5S principles - Structure Problem Solving (8D, 7-step, etc..) - Software Data Analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.) - Troubleshooting Equipment or Process failures - Ability to wear clean room suit and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to lift < 35 lbs and work in tight fitting, FAB environment sitting at a computer terminal for extended periods of time - May be exposed to yellow lights, blinking lights - Ability to discern audible alarms - Potential to work with materials which contain hazardous chemicals - Support and/or work shift duties in a 24x7 manufacturing environment Required Skills: Python, VBA, Statistical Methods, Change Point Management, Lean Principles, TPS, 5S Principles, Data Analysis Software, Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, Equipment Troubleshooting, Process Troubleshooting, Structured Problem Solving Benefits: Competitive benefits package, Participation in company incentive compensation programs
