Job Description
Summary: Samsung Austin Semiconductor is a leader in advanced semiconductor technology, committed to innovation. The Engineer II role involves ensuring equipment and systems run effectively, troubleshooting issues, and participating in continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Follow standard operating procedures to ensure equipment and systems are running effectively and/or respond to failure, maintenance needs, and quality issues
- Gather date and input it into relevant SAS systems, monitor trends by observing change points and following escalation plans as needed
- Operate and retrieve date from equipment, and follow detailed scripts to perform trouble shooting; perform change point management task set; disposition lots, identify the critical failures that imply bigger problems, and fix those problems or document and escalate; participate in continuous improvement efforts; support equipment and process matching projects to support new device vertical ramp; and own a critical module of the process flow: investigate quality issues, improve process margins, and maintain high level of process control
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field and 12 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation
- Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field and 36 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation
- Requires 12 months of experience involving the following: Capacity Planning
- Forecast work in Production
- Data Analysis (Statistics, Design of Experiments (DOE))
- WIP trends investigation and recommendations
- SQL, Python, and Java
- Monitoring and debugging test failures
- Test bench development
- Test/verification plan creation
- Defect monitoring, characterization, and root cause analysis
- Reviewing equipment designs
- Data analysis
- Quality/warranty investigation
- Equipment troubleshooting
- Training, planning and documentation
