Job Description
Summary: Salt River Project (SRP) is one of the largest public power and water utilities in the U.S. seeking a motivated College Intern to support their teams while gaining hands-on experience. The role involves assisting with data analysis, operational events, and project management to enhance grid reliability and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Research, track, and update operational and performance data to support system reliability and improvement initiatives
- Assist with analysis of operational events, including Human & Operational Performance (HOP) submissions and trend tracking
- Support development of reports and tools used for performance monitoring and decision-making related to Reliability Coordinator integration and operational improvement projects
- Support project management activities, including tracking milestones, deliverables, and action items
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across transmission and generation operations
Required Qualifications:
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite & Outlook
- Exceptional writing skills and verbal communication
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to structure and manage content effectively
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Self-motivated with strong accountability and ownership of assigned tasks
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a hybrid or telework environment
- The anticipated schedule is 20-25 hours per week, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week during summer months (school schedule permitting)
- All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Currently, SRP does not sponsor H1B visas, OPT, or other employment-related visas
Preferred Qualifications:
- College level coursework (100 or higher) from an accredited institution is preferred. Management will evaluate college-level coursework individually to determine if it is applicable to the position and relevant to the required skills. Knowledge such as accounting, general administrative principles, communications, marketing, personnel, finance, training, business and other non-scientific fields
