Job Description
Summary: Sallie Mae is dedicated to empowering students in their educational journey. The Capital Finance Intern will learn about liquidity, interest rate risk, and assist in various treasury functions including capital stress testing and automating risk management processes.
Responsibilities:
- Learn and understand the key liquidity, interest rate risk and capital frameworks that Sallie Mae uses to manage risk and conduct balance sheet management activities
- Create automated reports in each of these areas that will help management make decisions
- Assist the Treasury team in executing the annual capital stress testing process
- Assist in raising funding using the brokered deposit markets
- Develop ways to automate existing risk management processes
Required Qualifications:
- Enrolled currently in an accredited university pursuing a degree in Quantitative Finance, Finance or Accounting
- Open to undergraduate level students with expected graduation dates of Dec 2026 - May 2027
- Previous internship experience in technology preferred
- Adaptability and openness to learning
