Job Description
Summary: Salem Media Group is seeking a versatile Video and Radio Producer for their fast-growing Salem News Channel, which features America’s top conservative voices and straight news. The role involves overseeing various aspects of production including content development, segment planning, scriptwriting, and audience engagement to ensure high-quality broadcasts.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the show’s host and editorial team to conceptualize, research, and develop content for each episode
- Plan and organize each episode’s segments, interviews, and discussions
- Write, edit, and review scripts (anything written out for hosts to read: ins and outs, ad reads, promotional material, or news reports) for the show, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and engaging storytelling
- Manage the technical and logistical aspects of production, including coordination with camera operators, directors, and technical crews
- Oversee the selection and integration of graphics, images, video clips, and sound bites to enhance the show’s visual and auditory impact
- Identify, secure, and maintain relationships with high-profile guests, experts, and commentators to support ongoing and future programming
- Uphold rigorous standards by fact-checking content, ensuring balanced/unbiased reporting, and mitigating risks in politically sensitive topics
- Develop and implement strategies to engage the audience through social media, viewer feedback, and interactive on-air elements
- Ensure all production deadlines are met and that episodes are completed and broadcast-ready on schedule
- Oversee and streamline communication across hosts, editors, technical staff, and other production personnel
- Make real-time editorial and production decisions during live broadcasts
- Create and maintain a vivid understanding between individuals, often anticipating needs before they materialize while commanding trust and respect
