The role involves performing mechanical engineering work throughout the lifecycle of equipment for various facilities, including design development, construction, installation, and maintenance. Responsibilities: - Assist with facility mechanical and/or plumbing design engineering (plans, specifications, calculations and cost estimates) for new facilities, facility modernization and aerospace ground support facilities and equipment projects - Perform system sizing calculations using engineering software and tools such as HVAC heat load calculations (Trane TRACE), pump sizing calculations, and plumbing system sizing under supervision - Perform facility condition assessments and capital asset management planning - Perform detailed construction cost analyses using RSMeans CostWorks and material take-offs of a variety of building types and equipment types (both US and international locations) - Perform field construction support - Learn and apply ASHRAE, NFPA, and international/local building codes - Write technical design narrative reports and engineering trade studies - Work with multi-disciplinary design teams Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program - Zero to two years' experience - Proficiency in using engineering tools and software: Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams/Sharepoint and email Applications - Valid/Unrestricted FL driver license - Must be a US Citizen - Ability to obtain a clearance from the Defense Security Service and other Federal Government Agencies Preferred Qualifications: - Prior engineering co-op/internship experience - Experience in Autodesk Revit - Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD, PTC Creo or Solidworks and other modeling/drafting software - Experience in construction cost estimation software such as CostWorks or design markup/takeoffs in Bluebeam Required Skills: Mechanical engineering, HVAC heat load calculations, Pump sizing calculations, Plumbing system sizing, Facility mechanical design, Plumbing design, Construction cost estimation, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk AutoCAD, PTC Creo, Solidworks, Bluebeam, RSMeans CostWorks, ASHRAE standards, NFPA codes, Effective interpersonal skills, Self-directed initiative Benefits: Performance-based bonuses, Medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, Paid time off and company holidays, Wellness programs and employee assistance resources, Professional development support
