Business Group Sr. Marketing Manager, Department of… at SAIC · Remote

SAIC is looking for an experienced, energetic Business Group Senior Marketing Manager to support our Department of War business. We're looking for someone who thinks big, knows how to execute and genuinely enjoys working with people to make great things happen. This is a highly visible, hands-on role working directly with senior executives, business development leaders and technical experts. You'll serve as the primary marketing point of contact for your assigned business portfolio, helping shape how we position SAIC in the defense market, develop campaigns that support business growth and tell compelling stories about the work we do for our customers.

You'll connect business priorities with the right expertise across our Marketing and Communications organization, bringing in colleagues from campaigns, internal communications, media relations, brand, creative and strategic events as needed. You'll help set direction, coordinate initiatives and keep work moving forward.

We need someone who can see the big picture without losing sight of the details. Someone who can take an idea, build a plan and see it through. Just as important, we're looking for the right person for our team. We're a collaborative group of marketers who take pride in our work, enjoy working together and value fresh thinking, good judgment and people who bring solutions to the table. Our philosophy is Bold over Boring, and we mean it. We want someone who brings ideas, challenges conventional thinking and isn't afraid to try something new. Someone who's equally comfortable contributing to an executive strategy discussion and rolling up their sleeves to get the work done.

What you’ll be doing:

Marketing Strategy and Execution

• Develop marketing strategies aligned with business priorities, customer needs and growth objectives, identifying opportunities to strengthen SAIC's position in the defense market.
• Partner with our Campaign Center of Excellence to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns, from strategy and messaging through activation and measurement.
• Translate complex technical capabilities into compelling messaging and foundational marketing materials, including capability presentations, customer success stories, digital content and campaign assets.
• Manage multiple initiatives from concept through completion, balancing priorities and ensuring high-quality, timely delivery.

Thought Leadership and Event Marketing

• Work directly with senior executives and subject matter experts to develop thought leadership, including articles, speaking engagements, panel discussions and industry publications that showcase SAIC's expertise.
• Partner with our Strategic Events Team to plan and execute marketing initiatives for trade shows, conferences and other industry engagements, including messaging, executive participation and customer engagement.
• Identify opportunities to extend the impact of events through supporting campaigns, content and follow-up marketing activities.

Business Partnership and Collaboration

• Anticipate business needs, identify opportunities where marketing can add value and proactively recommend approaches that support business priorities.
• Connect business priorities with the appropriate Marketing and Communications teams members, including internal communications, media relations, brand, creative and strategic events, coordinating efforts to ensure alignment and execution.
• Bring fresh ideas, sound judgment and informed recommendations to leadership discussions, influencing decisions and helping move priorities forward.
• Leverage AI and other technologies to improve productivity, accelerate research and content development and expand the team's capacity while maintaining quality and accuracy.

The Kind of Person Who Will Thrive Here

We care a great deal about the team we've built and the way we work together. Experience and technical skills matter, but so do attitude, curiosity and how you show up for your colleagues. We're looking for someone who:

• Brings energy and ideas. You're curious, engaged and excited about the work. You look for opportunities to do things differently and better.
• Gets things done. You take ownership, follow through and don't need someone checking in every day to make sure work is moving.
• Sees the big picture. You understand how marketing connects to larger business goals and can move comfortably between strategy and execution.
• Brings people together. You enjoy collaborating, build trust and know how to get the right people involved at the right time.
• Has confidence without ego. You can hold your own in a room with senior executives, welcome different perspectives and aren't afraid to challenge thinking when appropriate.

We work hard, support one another and take pride in delivering work that matters. We believe people do their best work when they're trusted, respected and encouraged to bring their ideas to the table.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years in marketing or a related discipline.
• Background in marketing to the defense industry, federal government or government contracting market.
• Strong writing, storytelling and messaging skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into compelling content.
• Proven ability to develop marketing strategies, execute integrated campaigns and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Familiarity with trade show, conference and event marketing as part of a broader marketing strategy.
• Track record of developing thought leadership in collaboration with senior executives and subject matter experts.
• Ability to build relationships, influence senior stakeholders and coordinate work across teams without direct reporting authority.
• Proficiency using AI tools to improve marketing productivity and efficiency, with an understanding of responsible use and content validation.
• Sound business judgment, strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a collaborative environment.
• Based in the Reston, VA area, with flexibility to attend in-person meetings as needed and travel approximately 10%.
