We are looking for an Animal Technician to join the team at our Labelle, FL facility. Help set the bar to meet the highest standards of animal welfare. Position Summary:

The Animal Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the health, welfare, and well-being of non-human primates in our care. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about animal care and want to grow their career in a mission-driven organization. Under direct supervision, the technician will perform daily husbandry, health observations, enrichment activities, and cleaning tasks to ensure a high standard of animal welfare.

The chosen candidate must agree to a background screening prior to engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

● Monitor animal health and welfare through daily observations and accurate recordkeeping

● Perform daily husbandry tasks, including feeding, watering, cage cleaning, and enrichment delivery

● Clean and maintain indoor and outdoor enclosures using hoses and pressure washers

● Assist in handling and movement of animals as needed

● Maintain areas of primate enclosures, including removal of debris and general cleanliness

● Identify and report abnormal behaviors or signs of injury and illness immediately

● Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and biosecurity guidelines

● Use cleaning chemicals safely and according to instructions

● Assist with receiving, inspecting, and housing incoming animals

● Keep records of husbandry tasks and temperature logs accurately and consistently

● Communicate issues or questions promptly to supervisors or veterinary staff

● Be available to work rotating weekends, holidays, or alternate shifts (e.g., Tuesday–Saturday)

● Perform other duties as assigned

Experience / Qualifications:

● Experience working with animals in a farm, veterinary, or laboratory setting

● Familiarity with pressure washing equipment and basic mechanical troubleshooting

● Prior exposure to non-human primates is a plus but not required

● High school diploma or GED

● Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

● Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks

● Detail-oriented with good observation and recordkeeping skills

● Strong work ethic, team-oriented mindset, and ability to work independently

● Willingness to work with non-human primates and follow strict animal welfare protocols

● Ability to work in PPE, including use of N95s, is required when actively providing care for NHPs

● Ability to work in warm environments

● Experience processing NHPs for health diagnostics is highly desirable
