Job Description
Summary: S&P Global is a leading provider of financial data and analytics, and they are seeking a Sr Operations Specialist for Fixed Income Data Management. This role involves managing and analyzing data sets for Fixed Income securities to ensure data quality and compliance with methodologies, while collaborating with stakeholders to enhance index integrity.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and analyze a wide range of data sets for Fixed income securities – such as security Reference data, Corporate actions, ESG data and others - to ensure data quality, accuracy, and timely delivery for index production and maintenance
- Conduct data quality checks, implement validation and verification processes, and maintain high standards of data quality
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and index managers to understand data requirements and ensure indices comply with their methodologies and objectives
- For complex cases, provide detailed analysis of recommended data changes to the relevant index committees for review and decision making. Communicate decisions to all impacted stakeholders
- Define requirements, conduct testing and help implement improvements to the Fixed Income Data technology toolkit to enable operational efficiencies and best practices for the data management team
- Onboard new data feeds and/or datasets, ensuring seamless integration into existing systems
- Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and other factors affecting the Fixed Income markets and ESG trends
- Assist in preparing reports and presentations related to Fixed income data analysis for internal and external clients
- Provide timely and accurate responses to enquiries from clients via internal functions such as Client and Index Services
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field
- 1-3 years of professional experience in fixed income, ESG, data management, indexing or a similar financial field
- A foundational understanding of the fixed income market, ESG trends etc
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to work with large data sets
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, global environment
- Basic experience with Python, SQL and VBA for process automation and data analysis
- Experience in project management and implementing process improvements
