Job Description:
Summary
The Systems Administrator III evaluates, designs, documents, installs, tests, implements, monitors and maintains system and application software and hardware on shared server computer facilities. This individual provides consulting on the use of these systems, and plans and coordinates application software, system software and hardware initiatives.
Essential Functions
Leads and/or participates in complex departmental and cross functional projects which support client server technology and incorporate diverse computer system configurations
Support operational activities by devising and implementing logical solutions to problems encountered within the capacity and limitations of installed computer equipment
Assists in long and short term range planning for computer hardware, software, maintenance contracts and budgeting
Plans, analyzes and implements highly complex client server software and hardware systems for use as multi-user computer facilities. This includes system software, utility software, application software, specialty software, and setting up new servers
Collects, reports, analyzes and interprets performance and availability measurement data for complex facilities to ensure peak performance and highly available distributed computer systems
Provides user access to network resources such as printers, plotters, electronic mail and the Internet
Identifies and implements methods to measure quality and effectiveness of all work processes.
Applies quality improvement methodologies to continually enhance those processes
Assists with the development of disaster recovery and contingency plans for software, hardware and security failures
Serves as a subject matter expert resource, mentors and trains less experienced administrators
Creates and maintains implementation, testing, backout, backup, modification, and operational documentation and procedures for multi-user distributed facilities for internally developed and externally supplied
Provides consulting, technical guidance and information regarding the multi-tasking, multi-user operating system to applications development, computer operations staff and business units

Possess in-depth knowledge of multi-platform computer software and hardware advanced required
Qualifications
H.S. diploma/GED required High School Diploma or equivalent
Bachelor's degree preferred Bachelor's degree and industry-recognized IT certifications such as MCSE are preferred
Eight (8) years or more 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in data processing, servers, system management software, hardware and operating system software support duties. required
Knowledge in designing, installing, configuring and maintaining multiple LINUX/WINDOWS/UNIX in a high availability production/cloud environment intermediate required
Knowledge of data storage management sub-systems and shared computer environments intermediate required
