AI Intern

Summary: Ryder System, Inc. is looking for an AI Intern to join their IT team. The intern will assist in developing and implementing AI models, working with various data types, and supporting cloud-based solutions to address logistics and transportation challenges. Responsibilities: - Work with on premise and cloud-based solutions and platforms - Assist in the development and implementation of AI models and algorithms to solve real-world logistics and transportation challenges - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate generative AI and LLM capabilities into existing systems and workflows - Analyze and document data requirements including facilitation of sessions with business - Data analysis and profiling - Collaborate with the technical team, in any given product development cycle, on data and AI requirements - ETL source to target documentation including business matrix and functional requirements - Develop and test data ingestion and integration processes - Troubleshoot data ingestion, ETL and data issues - Design and develop machine learning models, interactive visual dashboards, and reports - ​Ability to write SQL queries to profile data and validate solutions delivered against data sources - SQL troubleshooting - Develop and test scripts to support ETL jobs execution - Understand that the end user is the primary reason for the technology and therefore strive for full customer satisfaction - Partner with key members of various departments to determine the definitions of essential data elements - Work with data architects to review and implement logical and physical database models - Support the mapping of source system data to target models into data warehouse and data lake - Define and capture metadata and rules associated with the calculation of metrics - Test automation - Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - H.S. diploma/GED - High School Diploma or equivalent required - Must be self-motivated, results-oriented and accountable - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Ability to work independently - Passionate for learning - Good organizational skills - Ability to write SQL queries - Develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms - Learn new technologies and tools, bring new ideas to the team and be an effective team player - Effectively communicate with management and co-workers and customers; strong customer focus - Learn, adapt, grow, and be flexible - Multitask, demonstrate good organization and time management skills - Work well under pressure, successfully meet schedules, work independently as needed to produce high quality work with minimal supervision - Operate as part of a cross-functional project team that will organize, plan and execute varying scale projects from vision to implementation Preferred Qualifications: - Senior/Graduate Students pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in management information systems (MIS), computer science, data science or computer engineering - Exposure to SQL, database management systems, NO-SQL databases, data integration tools like Informatica or Azure Data Factory - Knowledge to scripting languages like UNIX shell scripting, Python, R - Knowledge of machine learning model structures and evaluation techniques - Certificate in database management systems or business intelligence completed or in progress Required Skills: SQL, Database management systems, NoSQL databases, Data integration tools, Cloud technologies, Machine learning, Predictive modeling, Large language models, UNIX shell scripting, Python, R, Generative AI models, Microsoft Azure, Business intelligence tools, Robotic Process Automation, Windows operating system, UNIX operating system Benefits: Comprehensive health and welfare benefits, Medical, Prescription, Dental, Vision, Life insurance, Disability insurance options, Paid time off for vacation, Illness, Bereavement, Family and parental leave, Tax-advantaged 401(k) retirement savings plan
