Job Description
Summary: Ryan Companies US, Inc. is looking for a Project Engineer to join their National Mission Critical team. The role involves assisting the project team with project completion, learning Ryan's processes, and managing various project documentation and vendor coordination tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals
- Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination
- Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process
- Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries
- Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures
- Gain an understanding for overall site logistics
- Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process
- Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs
- Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work
- Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering/Management or related field
- 1+ year of experience in commercial construction
- Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Understanding of architectural and engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost coding systems
- Ability to assume responsibility, interface & communicate effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
- General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing
- Experience in Construction Management Software (i.e. Procore)
- Design-build commercial construction experience
