Applied Signal Technology (AST) is looking for a Principal Infrastructure/Network Engineer to join our top-tier Engineering team and play a key role in driving our mission forward. You’ll be at the forefront of elevating products and revolutionizing the design, development, testing, and delivery of modern communication systems. What You Will Do
Guide and oversee the design, develop, test and delivery of advanced high-capacity systems that process modern communications.
Work with other experienced members in R&D on system development and deployments supporting multiple programs.
Generate briefings and present material to team members, customers, and AST Management as necessary.
Work autonomously yet collaboratively in a team environment.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Experience with developing in python or similar scripting languages
System Administration experience; Linux, especially Red Hat based distributions
Experience with enterprise grade networking equipment, such as Cisco, Arista, or Juniper
Experience with virtualization technology (KVM, VMWare, Hyper-V)
Experience and/or knowledge of network protocols, such as TCP/IP and UDP
Experience with configuration management systems (puppet, ansible, salt)
Experience designing and setting up networks and data centers
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance is required prior to start with the ability to obtain a polygraph after start.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with User Interface development
Experience with enterprise grade storage equipment
Experience with object-oriented programming languages.
Experience with or basic understanding of telecommunications systems concepts and/or signal processing
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerized systems.
Experience with automated system deployments
Existing TS/SCI with polygraph

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
