Job Description
Summary: RTX is a leading aerospace company focused on redefining the future of aerospace technology. They are seeking a Cert Test Operator B to assist in assembling Space and Defense products and perform various testing and inspection functions on electrical and mechanical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Must possess knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and vacuum systems
- Must have the ability to install, calibrate and operate various types of instrumentation
- Must have the ability to use measuring gauges such as micrometers, plugs or thread gauges, etc
- Must demonstrate proficiency and ability to thoroughly understand test specifications, changes to test specifications, recorded tapes and any related test inspection forms and procedures
- Must be able to fabricate test equipment or test hardware to blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings or other instructions using hand and power tools. Must have knowledge of tube and pipe fabrication i.e. brazing, soldering and tube bending. Has ability to perform fabrication work with a variety of materials
- Works to specifications and uses instrumentation and test hardware to install test units or systems, conduct tests and/or perform inspection functions or experimental, prototype, qualification, or production electrical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic or hydro mechanical products and fluid pumps. Accurately and legibly document results as applicable
- Must have complete understanding of the test to be run and be knowledgeable of the associated test equipment the unit under test and the unit’s capabilities
- Must be able to read and interpret data from test tapes, traces or other instrumentation including automatic data acquisition systems
- Works in close cooperation with supervision, engineering and other support personnel to resolve problems related to test or quality
- Provides interface with customer or government personnel as required
- Maintains test equipment of other lab assets as applicable and maintains a clean and orderly work area
- Performs shop floor control functions as required
- Must maintain, record retention, including quality paperwork, for all testing
- Must maintain break of inspection on test stands as applicable
- Must provide revision (or version) control of all test specifications, test procedures, applicable software or hardware and other documents to accept data and perform ENS functions
- Must be capable of performing quality control self-assessments on the test lab areas
- Must certify that the tests performed are in accordance with the specified requirements and to the best of their ability that the data obtained is an accurate representation of the test results
- Develop review and revise Test Lab Instructions in collaboration with engineering
- Work with and assist Engineering in testing and testing procedures for pre-production, qualification, and production programs at both component and system levels
- Work with and assist in maintenance of test log database
- Must pass and maintain certification
- Must be willing and able to work 2nd shift from 3 PM to 11 PM Monday - Friday
- Must be able to train on 1st shift for up to 6 months

- HS diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Able to work with MS Windows
- Able to perform basic Math calculations
- Plumbing experience
- A&P License
- Repairman's certificate
