Job Description
Summary: RTX is a leading company in aerospace and defense, seeking to expand its team with a Systems Engineer I. The role involves defining defense systems requirements, analyzing system performance data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support missile defense system development.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzing system performance data with respect to requirements
- Identifying performance deficiencies and proposing solutions
- Presenting plans, designs and system performance to peers and internal leadership
- Defining and updating concept of operations (CONOPS)
- Working in multidisciplinary teams in support of development of a missile defense system
- Apply Project Management principles, including action tracking, status reporting, task monitoring, and risk management
- Facilitate professional meetings, ensuring clear communication and alignment across teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, solving challenges and driving project progress
- Maintain project plans, status updates, and action items, ensuring efficiency and alignment with organizational goals
Required Qualifications:
- This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven ability to develop technical solutions to complex issues
- Experience working with Matlab, C/C++, Java or DOORS
- Strong analytic, technical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with MS Office Suite
- Experience in using AI/ML and signal processing in database and algorithm design and enhancement
- Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interface with customers and lead technical solutions to complex user needs
- Active DoD Secret Clearance or greater
