Job Description
Summary: RTX is a leading company in the aerospace and defense sector, dedicated to providing innovative solutions to complex problems. The Software Engineer I role involves supporting various phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and collaborating with a talented team in an Agile environment to develop solutions for defense systems.
Responsibilities:
- As a Software Engineer, you will support one or more phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - requirements, design, development, test, validation, and maintenance
- You will support research and development activities and/or programs of record
- You will work with a talented team of engineers, architects, and leaders in an Agile environment
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related (STEM) discipline
- This position requires 24 months or less of relevant professional work experience (including internships)
- Experience developing object-oriented software using C++
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is also required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with developing, testing, and integrating software using C++ / Java or other modern software development language
- Experience with OOA/D and UML or similar design language/notation
- Familiarity with Agile or working knowledge of lifecycle processes including Scrum, and Continuous Integration
- Possess skills to handle fast pace and dynamic product development environment including engagement with systems and electrical engineers
- Experience working closely and directly within a team environment
- Demonstrated leadership and self-directed attributes
- Experience with tools such as Atlassian Suite (e.g., Bitbucket, Confluence, Crucible, Fisheye, Jira), Jenkins, Eclipse, etc
