Job Description
Summary: RTX is a leading company in aerospace and defense, seeking a Software Engineer I to design, develop, test, and maintain software for cutting-edge systems. The role involves collaborating with talented teams in an Agile environment and learning advanced software technologies and techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, deliver, and maintain software for cutting-edge systems
- Work with talented teams of engineers, architects, and leaders in an Agile environment
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
- Experience working in Agile environments such as scrum, scrum at scale, SAFe and DevSecOps
- Experience with tools such as Atlassian Suite (e.g., Bitbucket/Artifactory, Confluence, Crucible, Fisheye, Jira), Jenkins, Eclipse, and Ansible
- Experience with software development, test, and/or integration using C, C++, Python, Ada, or similar
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements
- Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to difficult technical problems
- Experience working in a continuous integration/continuous development environment; experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of Red Hat and Linux Operating Systems
- Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles
- Experience working closely and directly within a team environment
- Experience with tools such as Confluence, Eclipse, Jira, Jenkins, Junit, Kafka, and Spring Boot
- Knowledge of common skills for software application development
