What is the Opportunity?
The Operational Data, Information & AI (ODIA) team within Personal & Commercial Operations (PCO) is seeking a Data Product Owner to support and drive the delivery of data and AI solutions. You will act as the bridge, translating business needs into scalable data and AI solutions by partnering closely with business leaders, data engineering, BI, and data science teams. You will help define metric logic, gather requirements, set priorities, and champion adoption so that our partners derive maximum impact. You will also ensure data and AI products are designed, developed, and maintained effectively throughout their lifecycle.
What will you do?
Engage with senior leadership and business teams to understand strategic priorities, operational inefficiencies, and opportunities
Conduct discovery sessions, synthesize business needs, and collaborate on developing data-driven business cases that justify investment in data and AI initiatives
Support stakeholders in quantifying business value and ROI, working with business leaders to define expected outcomes and success metrics for new solutions
Assist in the development and maintenance of the data and AI product roadmap
Help communicate planned initiatives, sequencing, and dependencies to stakeholders, ensuring clarity on business alignment and timelines
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and help translate them into clear product requirements
Ensure data and AI solutions adhere to relevant regulatory and compliance requirements by partnering with governance teams to identify requirements early and build compliance into solution design
Support adoption strategies and change management initiatives to drive user engagement with new data and AI solutions
Coordinate with business teams to define adoption metrics, identify adoption barriers, and support communication and training efforts
Conduct exploratory data analysis using SQL, Python, and PySpark to support discovery sessions, validate business hypotheses, and inform product decisions
Provide data-driven insights to support stakeholder discussions and business case development
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to break down complex business challenges into actionable insights and solutions
Demonstrated ability to think strategically while translating operational challenges into data-driven solutions and understanding financial and operational impact
Ability to connect tactical work to broader business objectives
Proactive approach to discovery, learning, and continuous improvement while working on ambiguous problems and driving outcomes with limited guidance
Hands-on experience working in agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid) and familiarity with sprint planning, backlog refinement, and iterative delivery (Experience with complex, multi-team initiatives is a plus)
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark for exploratory analysis, data validation, and insight generation
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with senior leaders, present complex ideas accessibly, build credibility, and influence decisions through data-driven arguments
Ability to collaborate effectively across business, technology, and executive teams
Understanding of AI/ML fundamentals, use cases, and business applications
Excellent communication, active listening, and stakeholder management skills with ability to translate between business and technical languages
Strong interpersonal skills, work ethic and reliability
Nice-to-have:
Experience in financial services, banking, or operations-heavy industries, providing insight into our core business
Background in data science, analytics, or data engineering, which provides deeper technical credibility and ability to engage with technical teams
Track record of identifying, scoping, and delivering high-impact data and AI initiatives in an enterprise environment
Systems design thinking and understanding of how data solutions integrate into broader organizational systems
