Experienced Automotive Technician – VW/Audi Experience Preferred

Gurnee Volkswagen is looking for an Experienced Automotive Technician to join our growing Service Department. We are looking for a skilled technician who takes pride in their work, has strong diagnostic abilities, and is capable of handling a wide range of automotive repairs.

Volkswagen and Audi experience is preferred, but we welcome experienced technicians with a strong background working on other makes and models. If you are a motivated technician looking for a professional dealership environment with opportunities to grow your career, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on customer vehicles
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical concerns
• Perform engine, transmission, brake, suspension, steering, and HVAC repairs
• Utilize diagnostic equipment and technical information to accurately identify vehicle concerns
• Perform routine maintenance and manufacturer-recommended services
• Complete repairs according to manufacturer specifications and dealership standards
• Perform quality-control inspections to ensure repairs are completed correctly
• Identify additional repairs and communicate findings when necessary
• Maintain accurate documentation of diagnostic and repair work
• Work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all dealership and manufacturer safety procedures

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional automotive technician experience preferred
• Volkswagen and/or Audi experience strongly preferred
• European automotive experience is a plus
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
• Ability to diagnose and repair complex vehicle concerns
• Experience using automotive diagnostic equipment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Must have your own professional tools
• ASE certifications are a plus
