Experienced Automotive Technician – VW/Audi Experience Preferred
Gurnee Volkswagen is looking for an Experienced Automotive Technician to join our growing Service Department. We are looking for a skilled technician who takes pride in their work, has strong diagnostic abilities, and is capable of handling a wide range of automotive repairs.
Volkswagen and Audi experience is preferred, but we welcome experienced technicians with a strong background working on other makes and models. If you are a motivated technician looking for a professional dealership environment with opportunities to grow your career, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities
- Perform accurate diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on customer vehicles
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical concerns
- Perform engine, transmission, brake, suspension, steering, and HVAC repairs
- Utilize diagnostic equipment and technical information to accurately identify vehicle concerns
- Perform routine maintenance and manufacturer-recommended services
- Complete repairs according to manufacturer specifications and dealership standards
- Perform quality-control inspections to ensure repairs are completed correctly
- Identify additional repairs and communicate findings when necessary
- Maintain accurate documentation of diagnostic and repair work
- Work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all dealership and manufacturer safety procedures
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional automotive technician experience preferred
- Volkswagen and/or Audi experience strongly preferred
- European automotive experience is a plus
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Ability to diagnose and repair complex vehicle concerns
- Experience using automotive diagnostic equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Must have your own professional tools
- ASE certifications are a plus
