Summary: Roche is a leading biotechnology company seeking a highly motivated intern for their High-Throughput Automation Technologies team. The intern will gain hands-on experience in developing and implementing laboratory automation systems and supporting data pipeline solutions for gene therapy development. Responsibilities: - Gain hands-on experience with complex lab automation workflows - Work alongside Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and implement complex robotics workflows - Build and optimize data pipelines integrated into robotics platforms to accelerate the decision making process - Collaborate across the organization to implement automation solutions that accelerate the pipeline Required Qualifications: - Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student) - Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program) - Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student) - Chemical engineering, bioengineering, biochemistry, biology, data science or other related life science areas - Self-motivated to learn and innovate - Strong organizational skills and detailed documentation abilities - Proficiency in data processing and analysis using tools such as Microsoft Excel with ability to interpret complex data sets - Demonstrated strong customer focus and ability to collaborate across disciplines Preferred Qualifications: - Proficiency in at least one programming language is strongly preferred (e.g. C#, Python, R, Matlab, or Visual Basic) - Basic knowledge of laboratory automation hardware and software such as Tecan or Hamilton platforms is a bonus - Knowledge of cell biology is preferred - Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills - Complements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and Passion Required Skills: Laboratory automation, Data processing, Programming language Important Skills: Cell biology Nice-to-Have Skills: Collaboration skills Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Summer Benefits: Paid holiday time off benefits
