Job Description

🚀 Senior Automation Test Lead / Quality Engineering Lead ( AI Global Product )

AI Global Product | AI-Native Workflow Platform | NCLC + Agentic AI | 500,000 Users Worldwide

🌍 Engineer Quality for the Future of Intelligent Workflows

Our Global Product & Service Team is building a next-generation workflow and approval platform serving nearly 500,000 users and approximately 1,000 internal customers worldwide.

Built on OutSystems Low-Code/No-Code and evolving into an AI-native platform powered by automation, GenAI, and Agentic AI, it supports mission-critical business processes across a global corporation.

This is not a short-term testing assignment. It is a long-term product transformation where quality engineering, intelligent automation, reliability, and customer trust are critical to success.

We are looking for a Senior Test Lead who combines:

• Strong hands-on automation expertise
• Strategic quality leadership
• Team coaching and capability development
• Product and customer mindset
• Practical application of AI in testing

This is not only about finding defects.
It is about engineering quality into a global AI product from requirements to production.

✨ Why This Opportunity

Few testing roles offer the chance to shape a global enterprise product used by nearly half a million people.

You will influence:

• Product quality, reliability, and production stability
• Automation coverage and testing efficiency
• Release confidence and delivery speed
• Customer satisfaction and platform trust
• AI-enabled Quality Engineering across global Agile teams

If you want to move beyond traditional QA and help define how an AI-native product is tested, released, and continuously improved, this role is for you.

🎯 Your Mission

Lead and continuously improve the end-to-end Quality Engineering strategy for our global workflow platform.

The role combines approximately:

• 70% hands-on quality engineering, automation, and test strategy
• 30% team leadership, coaching, and capability development

You will collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, developers, architects, DevOps, operations, and global stakeholders to make quality a shared product responsibility.

🧠 Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Strategy and Ownership

• Own and improve the end-to-end test and Quality Engineering strategy
• Establish risk-based testing, quality gates, release criteria, and measurable quality standards
• Ensure coverage across functional, API, integration, regression, performance, security, accessibility, and production validation
• Drive shift-left and shift-right quality practices
• Provide evidence-based release readiness and go/no-go recommendations
• Track KPIs including automation coverage, defect leakage, regression duration, test stability, and release confidence

2. Hands-On Automation Engineering

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Playwright with Python
• Build reliable automated tests for web applications, APIs, integrations, workflows, and critical business journeys
• Perform manual and exploratory testing where automation is insufficient
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Improve test reusability, reporting, data management, maintainability, and execution speed
• Reduce flaky tests and establish automation coding and review standards

3. Requirements and Product Testability

• Review requirements, designs, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Challenge ambiguity and identify risks, dependencies, edge cases, and negative scenarios early
• Improve testability, traceability, and Definition of Ready with Product Owners and Business Analysts
• Promote quality-by-design rather than testing only at the end of delivery

4. Integration and Non-Functional Quality

• Strengthen testing for APIs, integrations, business rules, permissions, and approval workflows
• Plan and execute performance, load, stress, scalability, resilience, and recovery testing
• Collaborate with Architecture, DevOps, Security, and Operations to ensure global platform reliability

5. AI-Driven Quality Engineering

• Apply AI across requirement analysis, test design, test data, automation, defect analysis, and regression optimization
• Explore Agentic AI for intelligent test generation, execution, monitoring, and continuous learning
• Ensure human review, traceability, security, and governance of AI-generated testing assets
• Measure AI value through improved coverage, productivity, defect detection, and cycle time

6. Team Leadership and Collaboration

• Lead, mentor, and develop up to five QA Engineers
• Build a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing Quality Engineering culture
• Provide technical direction, coaching, feedback, and fair workload allocation
• Develop team capabilities in automation, product knowledge, AI, and Quality Engineering
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Architecture, DevOps, UX, Operations, and Support
• Lead root-cause analysis and ensure systemic preventive action

7. Quality Monitoring and Reporting

• Monitor test execution, defects, automation health, release risks, and production quality
• Build clear dashboards and executive-ready reports
• Convert quality data into concrete insights, actions, ownership, and recommendations

🌟 What You Will Gain

• Lead Quality Engineering for a platform serving nearly 500,000 users worldwide
• Shape the automation and AI-enabled testing strategy of a long-term global product
• Gain hands-on experience with OutSystems, GenAI, and Agentic AI
• Transform a QA team into a modern Quality Engineering capability
• Deliver measurable improvements in reliability, efficiency, release speed, and customer trust
• Build a significant career achievement in a global AI product transformation

🤝 Who Will Thrive Here

You will succeed if you:

• Stay technically hands-on while leading and developing others
• Treat quality as a product and engineering responsibility
• Prevent defects by challenging risks and unclear requirements early
• Use data and evidence to guide release decisions
• Apply AI responsibly to solve real testing challenges
• Seek long-term ownership and remain accountable through complexity

“I helped build the quality foundation of a global AI-native product and transformed how the team delivers software excellence.”

🧩 Selection Challenge

Shortlisted candidates may prepare a maximum 10-slide, six-month Quality Engineering improvement plan covering:

1. Current quality risks and priorities
2. Test strategy and coverage model
3. Automation framework and CI/CD approach
4. Integration, performance, and non-functional testing
5. AI testing use cases and governance
6. Team capability and coaching plan
7. Quality KPIs and reporting
8. Prioritized 30/60/90-day roadmap

Evaluation criteria: technical depth, leadership maturity, prioritization, measurable outcomes, and the ability to balance quality with delivery speed.
