Founding Engineer – AI for Procurement at RnB Consultancy · San…
Job Description
Competitive programmer, quant, or a founder who gave it a real shot? Build an AI workforce for an industry that is begging for a real product.
A seed-stage startup in San Francisco builds AI agents for direct procurement at large manufacturers, and is already closing substantial enterprise contracts. It's an unglamorous industry with a huge need, and a small, driven team. You'd own everything from the first customer conversation to deployment, own an enterprise account, and grow into a team lead.
They're hiring 3 founding engineers.
What you'll own
- Backend-leaning full-stack work on LLM agents, tool use and evals
- Deployments at enterprise customers, end to end
- An enterprise account of your own, and later a team
Must-haves
- Backend-leaning full stack in Python, TypeScript, Java or C++, with LLM agents, tool use and evals (front-end-only won't fit)
- A clear technical spike: ICPC, USACO, IOI or olympiad results, quant work, or a startup you founded
- 1+ year of experience (roughly 1–4); exceptional new grads are welcome
- Based in the US and no visa sponsorship needed now (US citizen, green card or, for example, STEM OPT)
- In person in San Francisco, 9-9-5
Bonus points
- Something you built unprompted that has real users
- Agent evaluation and guardrail work
What's in it for you
- $160k–$180k base + 0.5–1% equity
- Founding-level ownership and a path to team lead
Good to know
- Full-time, in person in San Francisco, 9-9-5 Process: intro call with a co-founder short screen-recorded take-home (AI tools allowed) technical conversation paid work trial of two to five days
- offer
When you apply, please include
- Your CV (PDF), your LinkedIn URL, and GitHub if you have one
- Your contest or quant results, or the startup you founded and what happened
- Why you'd join a three-person company in an unsexy space like procurement (an honest answer is the best answer)
- Your current location, and confirmation that in person in San Francisco works for you
- Your work authorization status
- Your base salary expectation, your notice period, and any other interview processes you're in
Does this sound like you? Apply now. If you're a match, we'll be in touch within 3 working days.
